In collaboration with Divvy Bike Share Chicago, Spoken Art has created the Candy Cane Bike. Dubbed "Rudolph" or "The Reindeer" by Divvy riders, the bike is fully reflective to keep riders safe and Rudolph shining bright even in the darkest winter nights. Three years ago Aaron Schleichkorn had the dream of turning a bicycle into a canvas for creative expression. A year ago Aaron partnered with longtime friend John Dickson to build upon this dream. Printing reflective decals and getting involved in the community the duo became transfixed on bringing their vision to the foreground of the Chicago artistic landscape. Today may be cold and rainy, but two days ago it was warm and sunny and we delivered our first custom order to our good friend Billy Czerwionka. He’s a bike delivery guy for Jimmy John’s and has repeatedly won fastest times for the delivery routes from Jimmy John’s Lincoln Park location. We figured to get those times Billy must be rollin’ though some tricky situations. As bikers we’ve got to watch each other’s backs, and his new reflective decals will help him stay visible on the road. Glad you think the decals are great, Billy. Ride safe to roll on....

Our very first luxury bike suit. Silk-screened and hand-sewn to fit. This piece actually debuted in the Critical Mass Bike Winter art show of 2012 in Chicago. Depicted here is a blank canvas stretched across bicycle bars that is rider-friendly. We shared these at protest events and kids classrooms to invite people to express themselves when they bike about.
